About Lea

I’ve spent my career managing technology projects for nonprofit organizations and their partners. My current niche is in grant-funded law firms – legal aid. Before that I specialized in HUD HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) initiatives throughout the U.S. After moving around the country and sampling various local cultures, I moved to Orlando, Florida in 2006 and it’s felt like home to me ever since. I love the heat and the risky wildlife.

I earned a Bachelors in English/Linguistics and a Masters in Business Administration with emphasis in Finance from the University of Missouri and, after a brief stint in Dallas, TX to sample the investment banking environment, I chose to spend my career in the social services world. I freely share my work product with folks who ask and am always seeking professional connections with compassionate people.

I understand the challenges and nuance in building information systems to capture human issues, the importance of aggregate data analysis to advocate on behalf of your clients, and the value of a strong working relationship with your software vendors. I also understand the grant management challenges that nonprofit leaders juggle while working to promote their organizational mission and protect the well-being of their staff and the vulnerable populations that they serve.
